On 6/14, as part of our unit on the connectedness of humans and the environment, Grade 4 heard an inspiring talk from a Greenpeace representative about the impact of plastics on the environment. Students were amazed that it takes more than 1000 years for a plastic bag to decompose, that consuming beef causes more carbon emissions, and that future generations might have to live through extreme weather!
Going forward, students are inspired to take action by using less plastic when purchasing their breakfast, as well as reflecting on their dietary choices in relation to carbon emission. Some students are even considering a career as a meteorologist to study weather patterns for future generations. Let's work together to protect our precious Earth!
