Central Idea: Our responsibilities change as we grow.
Transdisciplinary theme: Who we are
Key Concept: Responsibility, Change, Connection
To prepare for our Two Little Bears story, we inquire about bears - what bears can do and what they eat. Children researched information from books and pictures, and were able to name out bear behaviors, such as they can catch fish, eat berries and honey, and can climb trees. Great to see children expressing their thoughts and discoveries!
We wrapped up our learning on tigers by researching through books and different resources. Children found out that the tigers would hide in tall grass or behind trees before they hunt an animal. We also learned about the animals that tigers eat, such as deer, wild pig, and buffalo. Children drew their findings on the inquiry book they made.
We also continued on our inquiry on cows - specifically how to milk a cow. We watched a video that demonstrates the milking process, then children mimicked the process by squeezing the gloves. Children recorded the time it takes to fill up a milk carton, and how they felt about milking. Most said they think it's easy but "yucky."
