Growing plants is a great way to teach young students responsibility and for them to experience the benefits of hard work first-hand. We planted lettuce in grade 3 this semester. Students were responsible for taking care of their plants. They watered them daily and trimmed dead leaves. Their dedication and diligence paid off and we harvested the lettuce leaves this week! Students took their leaves home and experimented with different methods of cooking and eating.
