G3 English: Renewable vs. Non-Renewable Energy
Central idea: People store and consume energy in many ways.
Grade three has been learning all about how we store and consume energy. The children began looking at the meaning of the word energy and how it impacts our daily lives. Having acquired knowledge about various types of energy, children were able to present their findings to the rest of the class, as well as to their parents during the past student-led conferences.
Following this, children explored different forms of renewable and non-renewable energy that people use, while considering advantages and disadvantages of potential energy sources that are being utilized now, and ones that could be used more effectively in the future.
