Our very 1st World Book Day
Lots of good changes and updates have been happening in the Kuei Shan libraries this year --
One of the most exciting ones being the school-wide celebration of the World Book Day!
This book-loving day took place on Monday, April 23rd and it was filled with exciting events for everyone to enjoy.
Story Telling Time: This morning event held in the 4F Library gave the opportunity to different people from the school (including staff and other older students) to read a story to the younger grades (G1-G3). There were several sessions, all with different books and readers.
The Book Station: The Book Station was an-all-day event held in the 1F Library. Students could visit the station and participate in several book related activities. Some of these activities included:
1. “The Book Exchange” – This activity involves people exchanging books of their own for another of their liking.
2. Voting for the best Book Cover Poster – As a project for their current unit, G5 students designed posters that represent their favorite book using different styles of advertisement with the goal of convincing the public to purchase it.
3. Free Magazines - As part of recycling & sharing good reading materials, the library encouraged everyone to take as many outdated magazines as they wanted from our school's library collection. Series such as TIMES Magazines, National Geographic, and The Economist were a few of the options to choose from.
Let's continue to work together to promote learning through reading both in school and at home!
