Fifth Graders’ Newest Challenge: The Exhibition!

The Exhibition is a culminating project which is done in the final year of the PYP. It’s a collaborative transdisciplinary inquiry process wherein students utilize their various skills and knowledge (language, research, thinking, communication, social, technology, etc.) to investigate and present solutions to real-life issues. In the past, it had always been done by the sixth graders. But this school year 2017-2018, the Exhibition has become even more challenging as PYP’s final year has been moved a year earlier - fifth grade!

It was a rocky journey for the fifth graders as they inquired, researched, consolidated, and prepared to present the entire inquiry process and action. The challenge became even tougher as for the first time, the fifth grade teachers required each group to prepare their reports and oral presentations in both Chinese and English! Our fifth grade teaching team put so much faith, time, and effort in these students, striving to help them go beyond expectations... and they all did it! The groups came up with relevant issues, gathered and presented rich information, and made strong conclusions and plan of action. We are proud of you, SY106 fifth graders!

* Special thanks to all their mentors and all the parents who supported and guided them beyond the classroom. Thank you for your time!
