2024 National Day Celebration

Celebrating National Day (Double-Ten Day) , is always a tradition of Taipei Kuei Shan School. This year, we had a variety of programs, including Flag Raising Ceremony, Pray for the Nation, Parade, Talent Shows and Honor Guard Drill. During the event, students presented full of creativity and skills with their artworks. The celebration culminates with popcorn and candy to symbolize our history (popcorn) and hope for the best future (candy).

October 10 commemorates the start of the Wuchang Uprising on October 10, 1911, a milestone of the collapse of the Qing Dynasty. ROC’s national day celebration is not only an event but also a time to reflect on the nation’s remarkable transformation from its ancient imperial state to a modern political republic nation.

The theme of this year’s Double-Ten Day celebration is A Beautiful Taiwan Today. A Better Taiwan Tomorrow. This theme aligns with the school’s mission Twined: Heritage with globalization well. Although the origin of this holiday seems slightly disconnected with modern Taiwan, it is a time to appreciate the literature, culture and traditions that are deeply rooted in the rich and vast Chinese history. All Kuei Shan community members experienced the sense of belonging by joining the celebration.

Twined: Heritage with globalization

Valuing the heritage that shapes our identity, the host country's culture that enriches our present, and the globalization that affects our future, we embrace diversity and commonality as all nations will be together under Christ.
